Race Report - Met League Cross Country Race 3 - Uxbridge
It was the race day after the club-Xmas-party night before… (and, to be fair, it’s a busy time of year with fixtures and people’s pre-Christmas commitments coming thick and fast). Our forces were a little depleted at the Met League race at Uxbridge, but the club spirit on the dance floor and the race course cannot be faulted.
Those who could make it the fixture in Hillingdon did their club proud, slogging up the steep gravelly hill and splashing through the River Pinn on a chilly December day. This year’s innovation was an option to run through the river or a take a longer path to avoid it – obviously most of our team opted for “shorter through the water”.
Particular mention goes to Simon Brown, making his Met League debut for Barnet. He was our first runner home in the men’s race race with a good time of 30:02.
